longevity of fuel tank seals

Always buy more than one and keep the second as a spare as they never last forever and after a few years you find that your car has just vomited out a full tank of fuel on your garage floor and you need to wait a couple of months before you can get another one as they are out of stock!
Lets be realistic, nothing lasts for ever anymore and especially these tank seals don't last 50 years like the original ones did
