When you're building an engine, you don't want to jeopardise it by using a worn out oil pump. At Hemi Performance we offer a full reconditioning service which is performed in-house.
By fitting an O-ring between the pump and cylinder block we are able ensure a perfect seal which guarantees high oil pressure at all times. This pump is also supplied with our exclusive retainer plate to alleviate the possibility of oil pump failure by one of the mounting legs breaking off.
What goes into a Hemi Performance reconditioned oil pump?
- Pump is disassembled
- Pump is chemically cleaned and sand blasted
- Pump is inspected for cracks
- Pump body is machined to accept O-ring seal (to cylinder block)
- Brand new internals are fitted
- Pump is re-assembled and primed
What is the retainer plate?
Due to the age of the Hemi 6 engine and oil pumps we've began to see a large number of oil pumps fail when their mounting legs break from fatigue. If you have a high performance Hemi 6; or you're taking it to over 5000RPM, we highly recommend you use a retainer plate.
The retainer plate alleviate all stress from the oil pump legs by mounting directly to the base of the pump and using over-length bolts (supplied) to mount it to your engine block.
